Welcome to the Moët Hennessy Assemblage Hospitality Skills Certificate offered in conjunction with Hennessy, and the Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts at George Brown College. The rapid upskilling program will be a way for you to pad your resume at a time when you have more availability to do so. Moët Hennessy Assemblage, in partnership with Hennessy and George Brown College, will offer you an opportunity to obtain a Certificate through Continuing Education at George Brown College. This program consists of a selection of ten courses, of which six must be completed to obtain the Certificate.

Upgrade your hospitality management skills online, bolster an existing credential, or to provide a gateway to a Diploma in the future. After completing six modules, you will be issued a certificate of completion of the Hospitality Skills Certificate issued by George Brown College. The credential will be a way for you to market yourselves and your new skills in specific hospitality management topics. The rapid upskilling program will give you a chance to learn transferable skills you can use throughout your careers in a range of different jobs, preparing you for the future by giving you specific, relevant skills around leadership, communication, risk analysis, time management, solution-focused thinking, social responsibility, change management, and more skills that can be used for career advancement in many ways.

    While we cannot forecast the future with any certainty, it is clear that there is an increasing importance on the education and workforce development sectors to prepare working individuals for the jobs of both today and tomorrow. The rapid upskilling program will be a way for you to pad your resume at a time when you have more availability to do so.

  • Flexible Delivery

    Work through the course material when you are able. The courses are designed so you can access the material at any time. Learn from a variety of resources including videos, guest speakers, handouts, activities, discussions, recorded Q&As and tests.

  • Interactive Community

    Learn from active industry professionals. All of the instructors are experienced professionals with a wide breadth of experience to share with students. Every course includes discussions and live Q&A sessions for interaction. There's also a community page for sharing between all participants.

Instructors

James Pollock

James has accrued over 30 years experience in the hospitality industry. In 2007 James received his Sommelier certification from the Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers (CAPS). Over the years James furthered his education to include certificates from the Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET), Italian Trade Commission, and the Saké Education Council. In addition to James’ position as Wine Director at Sassafraz, James teaches a variety of courses in wine, beer, spirits, at service at George Brown College, Niagara College, and most recently at the Shanghai Institute of Tourism.

Aleen Kilislian

Aleen is a passionate, resourceful, organized, people-loving experience creator with 14+ years of quality event strategy, management, and event executing experience. In 2016, Aleen completed her coaching certificate through a program at Grant Thornton LLP recognized and accredited by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council. Following that, Aleen has held leadership roles where her main priority is unlocking peoples potential. As of January 2019, Aleen decided to venture into the world of entrepreneurship, launching her own Corporate Event Planning Agency - Spark It Events! That same year, Aleen pursued her passion to teach and went back to teaching at the college level in a topic she is extremely passionate about - Events! Always striving to bring 100% to the work she does, as a Corporate Event Producer, Teacher and Coach, her main goal is to ensure that anyone that interacts with her and the brand she's representing has a wonderful experience they will always remember.

Bruce Lee

Bruce graduated from the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University. In 2011, he completed the Chef Training Program at George Brown College and moved to Paris to work in fine dining restaurants. He returned to Toronto in 2014 and opened Roselle Desserts shortly after with his partner Stephanie. Their pastry shop has been recognized in The New York Times, the Globe & Mail, the Toronto Star, and CBC. In his free time, he loves to cook, eat, travel, and exercise with his wife Stephanie.
